wiener dogs everywhere :)

Hi guys and gals,

These are some photos I took at the 2009 Buda, TX Dachshund Races (the theme: Wienerdog Millionaire. I had to buy a t-shirt). That's right, races for dogs with unusually long bodies and short stubby legs - hard to believe, but it's true!

Actually the races were only one (very fun) part of the whole event; there was also a costume contest (see above), bake- & cook-offs, and all of the dachshund souvenir shops that you could imagine. 

Owning two dachshunds ourselves, we had to go. I'm pretty sure 

I only put my camera down when Matt batted it away from me (okay, I'm a little bit kidding). But seriously, it was probably the cutest thing I've ever seen.  

And, one of our dogs even participated in a race!  Below are the highlights of Snippet's race - he was a little confused at first, but as you can see, he took off running soon enough.  No first place medals, but we are proud doggie parents anyway.  

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend!

Hi everyone!

Here are some photos I took a couple of weeks ago at a local shopping center.  It was such a gorgeous day that I had to go out and shoot!  And now I have some art for my office walls :)

Hey everybody!

Well, I actually have two things to celebrate today.  One is my younger puppy's birthday - Bella is one year old today!  I told her she has to start acting like a grown-up dog now, but I'm thinking that's not going to happen for a while :)  Here she is engaging in her two favorite activities - looking cute, and chewing on her bone.

My other celebration is that I am now the owner of a Canon 5D Mark II.  I've graduated to a very pro, really amazing camera - I can't believe it!  So, of course, I was itching to try it out and documenting Bella's birthday seemed like the perfect occasion for that.  It's weird - it's like Christmas came super early this year.  I never thought I would be this excited about a camera - but I suppose that's because until recently it didn't even occur to me that I could be a photographer.  

Anyway, I'm enjoying my celebrations today.  More shots to come soon!

I had to make at least one post about my puppies! We've had Snippet for 3 years (see top photo - he's such a ham), and he is now the big brother to our new puppy, Bella (2nd photo). I have loved shooting photos of Snippet, and now I get to catch them together - although, as you can see, they don't always love each other's company. But they are a lot of fun!

Here are a few photos from my sister's bridal shower in Houston.  So far, all I have posted are photos of events for my sister, but hey, it's all about the bride before the wedding, right?  

The top photo is Sunita cutting her delicious cake, the middle is one of my mom and her good friend Charlett, and finally, the wine bucket (pretty & fun)!  I swear I will branch out someday and post photos of people who aren't related to me, but probably not until after my sister's wedding :)
